Commissions

Some collectors want a piece in a different size, pigment, or finish. Others arrive with an empty wall, a room, or a brief, and want something made for it. Both are possible.

What We Make on Request

Custom variants of existing pieces. A different scale, a different pigment depth, a quieter or richer surface, built on a form already in the catalogue.

Scaled work for a specific space. The same object, sized to the wall or shelf it will live on.

Fully bespoke sculptural work for residential and commercial interiors. Designed with the architect, designer, or collector from the brief upward.

We take on a small number of commissions each year. Editions remain small even when the work is bespoke.

Our Process

It begins with a conversation. You tell us what you have in mind, the space it is for, and the constraints we should know about.

We respond with reference images, sketches, and material samples. For bespoke work, we draw, sometimes more than once. Nothing is cast until the drawing feels right.

Once the form is agreed, we send a written quote and a production timeline. A 50% deposit confirms the slot in the studio calendar.

Fabrication happens in Beykoz. Casting, finishing, and signing, all by hand. We share progress images at the key stages. The balance is settled before shipping; the piece leaves the studio once it is fully cured and inspected.

Timeline

A custom variant of an existing piece typically takes six to eight weeks from confirmed order.

A fully bespoke commission takes three to five months, depending on scale, material, and the number of drawing rounds.

These are honest estimates, not best cases. Resin, plaster, and pigment all set on their own schedule. We do not rush the curing, and we do not ship work before it is ready.

Pricing

Every quote is built from the work itself: scale, material, the depth of hand-finishing, the complexity of the form. We do not publish fixed prices for commissions.

A 50% deposit confirms the commission and reserves studio time. The remaining 50% is due before shipping.

Quotes are in US Dollars (USD). International collectors are welcome. Shipping is calculated separately, from Istanbul, once the piece is finished.

Our standard warranty applies to commissioned work in the same way it applies to catalogue pieces.

Begin a Commission

Write to hello@plastheticstudio.com with a short brief. The more grounded the brief, the faster we can reply with something useful.

What helps: rough dimensions or a maximum footprint, materials you are drawn to, reference images of existing Plasthetic.s pieces or other work you respond to, a sense of the space the object will live in, and a deadline if one exists.

We reply to every serious enquiry. If a commission is not the right fit, we will say so directly.

Commissioned work is a slower trade: months of conversation and curing for an object meant to be lived with for much longer.
